Good place with free wi-fi, a lovely indoor swimming pool, and a 24-hour reception. The staff once helped me with taxi tips! I'm excited to come back for Xmas.

Functional room and staff is always extremely friendly and mostly very friendly.
Overall it's wonderful hotel, excellent value, and the facilities are fantastic. Excellent service, they provide a private parking and free Wi-Fi. The location is great and stunning if you want to see a castle and a theater very close to the property. A reasonably priced restaurant has fantastic food;))

A luxurious and relaxing hotel, my first choice in Edinburgh. Staff and location could not be better. The staff were welcoming and exceptional and the pool was great. The location was marvellous and brilliant for walking around an art museum. Close to a castle and a sanctuary, it was a huge bonus. There was plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.

I have travelled a lot all round the world and my wife and I agreed that the Kimpton breakfast was the best
There was a lot of noise outside the hotel during the night right up until 4 am. quite disruptive.

Location is very good, not far from the station, shops and restaurants. Bed is comfortable, bed linen is nice.
Very noisy at night, soundproofing leaves much to be desired.

The hotel features spacious rooms with excellent design elements, particularly the quirky decor that stands out from standard fare. The garden room offers a serene atmosphere, perfect for breakfast, with a Mediterranean vibe that enhances the dining experience.
The room could have benefited from a couple more distinctive features. It felt somewhat generic. The TV only offered terrestrial options, a letdown, especially since it claimed to 'mirror' devices but didn't. The shower head was positioned quite low, which can be bothersome for taller folks, and the coffee-making setup with a single-use filter didn't lend itself well to two guests wanting coffee simultaneously.

The hotel staff was accommodating and exceptional, not annoying. The location was amazing, you can visit Hospital by walking. Further to this, we where very close to a castle and a sanctuary.

The excellent, warm and attentive but not over the top service from all staff. The standard of food was excellent and as we always judge a destination by it's coffee - it was in the "good" ratings from my husband!
One of our usual problems - the dim lighting at the bedside - some of us like to read. This is a common problem and the low energy bulbs haven't helped.

The staff were very helpful from when we drew up outside in the car until we checked out 2 days later. Well recommended.

Very comfortable room with castle view, great location and elegant settting. A real Georgian feel very fitting to New Town
Spa was slightly disappointing, maybe as steam room out of order? Didn't use restaurant so can't comment on food

I had an amazing stay where I loved the super comfy bed and relaxing pool area. The spa options, including a sauna and massage, really helped me unwind. If I had to nitpick, the shower water pressure could've been a bit stronger, but it didn't take away from my overall experience. 😊
